On Sunday, November 16th 2014, Amy Blumenshine spoke at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Community as the pre-mass speaker.   She is Diaconal Minister whose work addresses the suffering of veterans and their families.  Diaconal ministers serve at the intersection of the church and the world and seek to make the church become aware of the needs of the world in which we live.  This Amy does most abundantly.  She  co-authored Welcome Them Home – Help Them Heal, and started the Coming Home Collaborative as a resource of clergy and health care providers to reduce the continuing trauma of veteran’s return to civilian life.
